Special Needs School Teaching / Internship
The 'VSL' runs several Special needs teaching and care projects in schools and in support of the Special needs children community. This is an ideal oppertunity for Special needs Internship students to practice and enhance your knolwledge, skills and educational practices as you will be working with Special needs trained teachers in schools and after school community projects for special needs students in support of their future.
Fully including children with special needs in regular classrooms is not only beneficial for their individual development but also for the entire classroom community. It promotes empathy, diversity, and a more inclusive learning environment but you will understand that these students need close & individual support in the classroom therefore need you as a volunteer.
'VSL' in 2023 has formed a special needs community society included by the parents and siblings of our special needs students, well wishers and volunteers. We run two days of after school activities at a residence community center helping doing activities, teaching and various arts and crafts aiming to improve student's skills. Furthermore, we support this comminity project with a year planner activities that include, trips, educational tours, fun activities, religious work, community enhancement work, coaching swimming, kyte festivals, musical events, beach fun etc.
We are in the process of setting up a business plan for special needs community to earn a living by making arts & crafts to sell amongst tourists. The main focuss of this is to make a fund for the unitilization of costs in their planned activities, resources, medicines and also possibly setting up a helath insurance scheme for all the special needs children in their support at needs.
